Animal Welfare Division

On July 1, 2021 the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office created the Animal Welfare Division.
This division consist of two sworn Stokes County Sheriff’s Deputies.  These deputies are
tasked with the enforcement of North Carolina General Statute, city and county ordinances
pertaining to animals. The goal of the Animal Welfare Division is to give a voice to the animals
in our county that are unvaccinated, being neglected and abused. We take animal neglect very
seriously in our community.
