If I wasn’t born in Stokes County can I still get a copy of my birth certificate at the Register of Deeds?
No. If you were not born in Stokes County, we do not have your birth certificate on record. Some counties have a program that allows them to access birth certificates across the state, but Stokes County does not.

I have paid off my mortgage. Can I come pick up my deed at the Register of Deeds?
A copy of your deed is on record at the Register of Deeds and we can make you a copy. However, when you bought your property, you should have been given the original deed at settlement. If you can’t find your deed we will be happy to make you a copy.
