Department of Social Services
The Stokes County Department of Social Services office will be closed on Friday, 12/17, from 12:00 p.m.
until 5:00 p.m. You may call the office and be put in someone's voice mail during this time, however, e-mails
may not be looked at until Monday morning (12/20).
If you need to make a Child Protective Services (CPS) report or an Adult Protective Services (APS) report,
please call the office and you will be put in touch with someone to address your needs.
Effective 9/24/21, the DSS office will be closed to the public but open for business.
Until further notice, if you come to the DSS building, please ring the bell at the
front entrance and someone will come and find out what you need and get an
appropriate worker to meet your needs. All business will be handled outside of
the building, by telephone, by fax, or by e-mail. We do request that when speaking
with our workers that you wear a mask for everyone’s protection.
